ShannonShannon Fire Station Built: 1960, remodeled: 1997 ![]() Behind Shannon station is the Craft workers Maintenance Shop (built 1963, conversion 1994). This building, which can be seen to the right of the station in this photo, was at one time the training tower for Los Gatos, but close proximity to residences has curtailed it's use. The photo above was taken prior to construction of the Maintenance Shop in 2009.
![]() In addition to being used for department maintenance, the shop also stores the 1936 Dodge Hosewagon and emergency response trailers. The shop was designed to use extensive solar power. Shannon station was originally named Sullivan station, in honor of John Sullivan, a former Los Gatos Fire Department chief. This name can be seen on the front of the station in some of the old photos below. The station was renamed in keeping with the department's policy of naming it's stations after the area or street on which it is located.
