Fire Extinguisher Information

Do you know how to use a fire extinguisher? The Santa Clara County Fire Department provides fire extinguisher training for volunteer and non-profit organizations. If you are seeking employer provided fire extinguisher training, contact the company that services your fire extinguishers or look in the yellow pages under "Safety Consultants" for available training programs. If you would like more information about fire extinguishers, please contact the Public Education Office.

Fire extinguishers are for small fires. With any fire bigger than about the size of a wastebasket, you should be more concerned about evacuating and calling 911 than in trying to fight the fire.
