The Santa Clara County Fire Department offers CPR classes through several Community Center locations. If you are interested in taking a class, please call your local community center for their current schedule. Classes may also be taken through American Red Cross or American Heart Association. If you have additional questions or need help finding the class that is right for you, please call our Public Education Office. County Fire does NOT offer Healthcare Provider classes for EMT's, EMT-P's, RN's or other Professional Rescuers. Please check Heartshare Training, American Red Cross (Mountain View, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Palo Alto), American Red Cross (the rest of Santa Clara county) or Westmed Training for these classes.

Heartsaver AED Heartsaver AED is specifically designed for persons who are required to obtain a course certification card documenting completion of a CPR course. In this skills-based class, you will be trained in the new "Science of CPR" and "Relief of Foreign Body Airway Obstruction". You will individually demonstrate the proper technique and sequence of CPR on an unconscious victim. Instruction and hands on training, using an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), will be included for adults and children over 1 year of age, after which you will receive your two year certification card. Each student will receive their own personal key chain pocket mask/barrier and will be able to practice using it on a CPR manikin. This class does not include a BLS Healthcare Provider card. First Aid Santa Clara County Fire does not offer First Aid classes at this time.
