The Santa Clara County Fire Department offers CPR classes through several Community Center locations. If you are interested in taking a class, please call your local community center for their current schedule. Classes may also be taken through American Red Cross or American Heart Association. If you have additional questions or need help finding the class that is right for you, please call our Public Education Office.
County Fire does NOT offer Healthcare Provider classes for EMT's, EMT-P's, RN's or other Professional Rescuers. Please check Heartshare Training, American Red Cross (Mountain View, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Palo Alto), American Red Cross (the rest of Santa Clara county) or Westmed Training for these classes.

CPR for Family and Friends
This course is designed for everyone who wants to learn rescue skills that can be helpful when caring for loved ones. You will learn Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for adults, infants and children as well as procedures for aiding choking victims. This course offers the same training as Heartsaver but does not include a written exam or certification card. Co-sponsored with Campbell Recreation Dept., and Los Gatos/Saratoga Recreation & Community Education Dept. Children 10-15 yrs. welcome with adult accompaniment.

BLS Heartsaver
Heartsaver is specifically designed for rescuers who are required to obtain a course certification card documenting completion of a CPR course. All rescuers are trained in CPR and relief of foreign body airway obstruction. You will need a passing score on a written and skills exam prior to receiving your 2 year certification card. Cosponsored with Campbell Recreation Dept. and the Los Gatos/Saratoga Recreation & Community Education Dept.
