Regrettably, due to post-9/11 security measures, uniform patches are not available for purchase.
This is the patch currently in use. In 1997, the department adopted it's new name, Santa Clara County Fire Department, and changed it's logo and patch to the one seen here.
Prior to 1997, this was the patch worn by members of the Santa Clara County Central Fire Protection District. The irregular shape behind the firefighter's head is an outline of the county.
This unpopular patch was only worn for a couple of months before being replaced by the round one above. The interior logo, which continued to be used in the 'new, improved' patch, was designed by volunteer firefighter Rick James, who submitted the winning entry in a contest held to come up with a new logo design in 1970. For more information, see the history page.

The following patches were worn by members of the departments that have merged with or joined Santa Clara County Fire.
These patches were worn by members of the Campbell Fire Department before it merged with County Fire in 1993.
Campbell had a Fire Explorer program beginning around 1972. This patch, designed by Volunteer FF Zoltan Szucs, was used from 1976-7 until the end of the program sometime around 1980-1. Note that the traditional fire tool cluster in the center of the patch is wrong; somehow the pike pole was omitted from the design.
Prior to 1993, this patch was worn by Los Gatos Fire Department members.
Prior to 1996, this patch was worn by members of the Los Altos Fire Department.
This was the patch worn by members of the Morgan Hill Fire Department until 1996. The mountain on the seal is El Toro, for which one of the stations is named.
Burbank Fire Department members wore this patch.
This was the County Fire Marshal's patch.
