Objectives

The Joint Fire Academy is conducted by the Santa Clara County Training Officers in conjunction with the Santa Clara County Fire Chief's Association. Students who complete the Academy will meet the educational and manipulative standards as identified in Appendix A, and HazMat First Responder, Operational (EMT-D, as required by SCCFCA). To complete state Firefighter 1 certification, individual agencies will be responsible for completing requirements identified in Appendix B. Academy instructors are recognized authorities in their respective fields and have the practical experience upon which their teachings are based.
