Santa Clara County Fire Department

Historic Photographs - Apparatus
1970s

The photos on this page are of apparatus that are no longer owned by the department. This page contains apparatus which were manufactured in the 1970s.

These photos are reduced-size or cropped thumbnails. Click any photo with a border to see the full-sized image.

Because of the mergers and consolidations that took place during the department's history, apparatus designations become confusing. This is compounded by the renumbering that takes place when an apparatus is moved from front line to reserve status, or is allocated to a different station. Thus, a vehicle could have two or three different numbers during it's service life before being retired. One example of this is Campbell Engine 2, which then served as County Engine 10 for most of it's front line service before being moved to reserve status as Engine 110.

The following table shows the renumbering which became effective on 13 March 1972.
