Every 15 Minutes Program ParticipationThe Every 15 Minutes program is a nationwide program dedicated to raising the awareness of high school students about the dangers of drinking and driving. One of the events in this two-day program is a demonstration of automobile extrication, rescue, and victim medical treatment. County Fire is one of many emergency services agencies that participate in these events. The other participating agencies include American Medical Response, Los Gatos Police Department, Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department, California Highway Patrol, Santa Clara County Coroner's Office, Santa Clara County Communications and the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center trauma center. Several private businesses that also volunteer time and materiel are the Saratoga-Cupertino Funeral Home and Campbell Towing. Every year, County Fire participates in these two-day events. In 2004, County Fire participated in five; photos of these events can be seen below. In all, about 8000 students were made aware of the potential consequences of drinking and driving.
