The demonstration begins with calls to 911 and a CHP motorcycle officer arrives on scene and reports on conditions, requesting a rescue response.

Engine seven arrives and begins patient assessment and initial treatment and requests additional resources to assist with the entrapment. Truck 14 arrives on scene as a Sheriff's officer begins taking measurements for the accident investigation. In the bottom photos, after covering the victims to protect them, the windshield is removed with an axe, and the hood is popped to disconnect the battery.

One victim is pronounced dead at the scene by the Coronor.

Firefighters begin to cut up the twisted wreckage to get to and remove the victims using hydraulic spreaders and cutters.
Firefighters and paramedics prepare the first extricated victim for transport.

The drunk driver is administered a Field Sobriety Test, and arrested.
After the door finally yields, the second victim is extricated and prepared for transport.
The next day, the memorial service begins with a procession for the victims, lead by bagpipers.
